Steps to be more Environmentally Friendly | Going Greener

Do you want to be more environmentally friendly? We did and that's in 2020 we began to make change in our business from the top down. We started with small changes like switching our bottled soap for bars and progressed to bigger decisions, such as, transitioning our company car fleet to fully electric.

Here are the steps we’ve taken to be more eco-friendly, which you can adopt either as an individual or as a business:

TerraCycle

One of our first fundamental changes was increasing the amount we recycled and reducing our waste. To achieve this we introduced TerraCycle zero waste boxes in the Sicon head office in Bury St Edmunds. TerraCycle is committed to eliminating the idea of waste by recycling the “non-recyclable.” Whether it’s coffee capsules from your home, pens from a school, or plastic gloves from a manufacturing facility, TerraCycle can collect and recycle almost any form of waste. TerraCycle is able to divert millions of pounds of waste from landfills and incinerators each month.

Bar of Soap

Bars of Soap

Plastic waste is one of the worst problems facing our environment today and liquid soap only contributes to this issue. That’s why we’ve replaced all our liquid soap with bars. Not only do bars of soap produce less plastic waste, but you also use 30% less water when washing your hands with bars and a bar of soap lasts six times longer. Make the switch today!

Electric Cars

In 2020 we made the decision to start moving our company car fleet away from fossil fuels over to electric. As of July 2021 50% of our fleet is now fully electric with a further 16% hybrid.

Solar Panels

Solar Panels

For the last 5 years we have had solar panels at our head office generating a good portion of our electric. We have now acquired the building next door and we are installing more solar panels to increase the percentage of our electric generated through solar.

LED Light Bulbs

Since moving into our current head office over 5 years ago we have used low emission LED lighting. This is a small and simple step into making a business or household more eco friendly.
